HONORING HUNDREDS OF ARTISTS
According to the Vietnam Craft Villages Association, the Association is allowed by the State to honor and honor artisans. The awarding ceremony of Vietnamese craft village titles is a periodic activity of the Vietnam Craft Village Association held every 2 years, starting from 2007.
After 9 times to date, the Association has honored 72 typical Craft Villages, 835 Vietnamese Craft Village Artists, 72 Typical Craft Village economic units, 95 typical Craft Village handicraft products, 52 skilled craftsmen from Vietnamese Craft Village, 115 Family Gold Pounds. 76% of Craft Village Artists were honored by the Association. Vietnamese Craft Village Artists were awarded the title of Meritorious Artisan and People's Artisan by the President.
Particularly for the 10th Honoring of Vietnamese Craft Village titles - 2022, the Association received more than 300 applications from provinces and cities nationwide. COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF CRAFT VILLAGE PRODUCTS
At the conference "Cooperation to develop craft village products in Hanoi and Northern provinces", Dr. Ton Gia Hoa - Vice President of the Vietnam Craft Villages Association said that Hanoi is home to the largest number of craft villages in the country, with 1,350 craft villages and craft villages. In particular, Hanoi's craft villages converge with 47 professions out of 52 traditional professions in the country. There have been 318 craft villages and traditional craft villages recognized by the Hanoi People's Committee.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi, President of the Ha Thai Lacquer Association, said that the lacquer profession in Ha Thai village, Duyen Thai commune (Thuong Tin district) has a history of about 300 years. However, currently, the number of businesses that are agile, grasp market trends well, and have high export capacity in Ha Thai craft village is still not many. The Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) has been signed, exports will be affected because the EU has strict environmental requirements.
"So for lacquer workers, the ratio of lead, iron, heavy metals... in the paint must be according to the standards of the importing place; the product must be environmentally friendly, not harmful to the environment... In order for craft village products to develop sustainably, experts and representatives of craft villages believe that it is necessary to focus on solving some basic issues such as: Brand building; planning and development of raw materials; develop clean production and apply high technology; Capital support, diversification of investment resources through socialization, cooperation, market development and expansion, promoting deep participation in domestic and international supply chains.
